Kwan is scheduled to be in The Woodlands in late November as the keynote speaker at the John Cooper School’s 14th annual Signature Author Series.Kwan, who is originally from Singapore, move to the Houston area when he was 11 years old, eventually graduating from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. The latest book in the trilogy, “Crazy Rich Asians,” has been made into what’s been called a ground-breaking film of the same name, documenting a relationship between a man from Singapore and his Chinese-American girlfriend who both return to Asia where the swanky, opulent lifestyles of ultra rich Asians are experienced. The romantic tale has enthralled audiences since it opened in mid-August in theaters around the world.
The event also features other visiting authors who will promote and be available to discuss their own books. Any local author who is interested in having a booth at the event must registed by Sept. 30. There will also be book signings and other activities at the event. For more information, visit www.johncooper.org or call 281-367-0900, Ext. 2441.
